On October 10, 2009, Saint Nicholas Church celebrates its 55th Anniversary with a gala event to launch the “Unity in Community” campaign for the restoration of the Community Center’s Grand Ballroom and School Gymnasium. The black and white formal affair will feature an elegant “Coconut Grove Night Club” theme: red carpets, big band orchestra, gourmet food, and, of course, dancing. Highlights of the evening will include a short film presentation and silent auction of outstanding items. “Unity in Community” – there is no better phrase to describe what the Saint Nicholas Community Center represents for the residents of Los Angeles.
